Mondi Rotatrim is South Africa’s leading A4 office paper — but it’s also part of something bigger. Proudly produced in Merebank, Durban since 1967, Rotatrim stands at the intersection of performance, purpose, and local pride.
Our 2025 rebrand reflects more than just a new look. It brings to the surface what’s always been true: this paper is made for South Africans, by South Africans, with a global standard of excellence.

Mondi Rotatrim is now proudly Cradle to Cradle Certified®, meeting rigorous global standards for material health, circularity, climate protection, water stewardship, and social fairness. We also carry FSC® certification and uphold the highest environmental standards in forestry and manufacturing.
We manage approximately 254,000 hectares of plantation forests in South Africa. Sustainability is core to everything we do — from protecting water and biodiversity to supporting long-term productivity and social value in our landscapes.

Mondi is a Level 1 BBBEE contributor, with 135% recognition points, and is one of South Africa’s most transformed forestry companies. Choosing Rotatrim helps reduce import dependence and strengthens the national economy.
From Seedling to Shelf
Our paper is produced using timber supplied by thousands of small-scale growers supported by Mondi Zimele, our enterprise development programme. These growers receive training, seedlings, mentorship, and market access — turning underutilised land into economic opportunity.

Paper is Our Life
Forests are the second largest global stores of carbon. We manage ours sustainably and locally, focusing on water, soils, biodiversity and social value of our production landscapes.
We have reduced our total freshwater consumption in our South African mills by 8% and our specific water consumption in our Richards Bay mill by 4% from 2015 to 2018. This has been achieved mainly by implementing closed loops and increased recycling of water used in our processes. As of April 2018, approximately 67% of our conservation area network was in a ‘maintained’ state.
Mondi Rotatrim is an A4 office paper that is whiter, brighter and locally produced in South Africa and exported out to the world. Our HQ may now be abroad, but it all started here in South Africa and of that we are very proud.
